Annyta
Lolyta was born in 1959 in Amsterdam. She
studied art and textiles at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy
in Amsterdam and at the famous Central St. Martin’s
College of Art & Design in London. At the latter she
received in
1989 a first class honours degree for printed textiles. Her
work for Georgina von Etzdorf and her love for fabrics
inspired her in 1991 to start her owndesign- and print studio for her revolutionary
textiles. The atelier is basedin Baambrugge, near Amsterdam in an old rebuilt
cowshed. It is specialized in different printing
techniques and finishes. The most important however, are
the ideafor
and total image of the fabrics.
Since1996 Annyta Lolyta Goossens designs collections
of beautiful poetical scarves. The
inspiration for a collection comes from nature, art,
daily rhythms, poetry and memories. A powerful image
emerges by using and combining different materials and
techniques in a personal way. Together with her often
abstract designs a distinctiveand innovative style is created. The scarves are
a symphony of colour, they surprise by material
contrasts and their reflection of light. With her
textiles Annyta Lolyta likes to evoke a dreamlike world. Her
scarves are/have been sold at galleries and designer
shops in Europe ( f.e. Paul Smith) andin New York and Japan.
New areAnnyta
Lolyta’s accessories for the interior. These
include curtains, cushions, bedcovers, draught-screens,
rugs and covering for chairs. All products can be
ordered at her studio. Every piece is unique as they are
made by hand.The
textiles that Annyta Lolyta designs for these are as
lyrical as the scarves and more monumental. Annyta
Lolyta’s favourite material is velvet, because of its
ability to change in colour in different light, its
softness and its mystery. By using and treating velvet
in a revolutionary way, Annyta Lolyta proves that velvet
can be innovative and fresh in the interior.
All of Annyta Lolyta’s articles are produced in her
atelier or in the Netherlands with great care of quality
and are therefore exclusive and special.
Because of her experience with textilesand techniques, Annyta Lolyta is often asked to
develop new fabrics for styling agencies. She also
worked on a development project of the Norwegian
government : ‘Jute from Bangladesh’, she designed
cushions and curtains of jute. Annyta
Lolyta also designs for others, including Ulf
Moritz. .
